This 3-effort renewal series drastically cut costs for Crain’s Chicago Business, as well as for many other Crain Communications publications that used the budget-friendly template I designed: One preprint base, one outer envelope that worked for all mailings, variable copy, and an urgent variable message that showed through a window on the outer. It was efficient and effective. NOTE: The magenta-colored text you see in each effort tells the printer that this is variable copy. It will print in black.
