WordCamp NYC Conference

Acquisition, Website, Event

CASE STUDY

WordCamp is the annual conference that covers everything related to WordPress. I was honored to be chosen to work with other organizers in developing the branding and design of the website.
PROBLEM:
We needed to attract enough sponsors and attendees to the NYC WordCamp Conference in order to cover the cost and break even.
PROCESS:
To begin, a unifying visual theme was needed for the conference. Since the event was taking place in Times Square, I created the graphic thread throughout by developing a logo and color palette that represented the lights of Broadway. Content was organized so a website visitor could easily review the schedule and find event sessions that would be relevant to them. In addition, information on the sponsors was placed strategically throughout the website, as a way to encourage sponsorships.
RESULTS:
The website helped meet the goal: Sold-out conference, with all costs covered.
